Asia Should Strengthen Cooperation in Financial Sector

asia-should-strengthen-cooperation-in-financial-sectorAsian Development Bank (ADB) in his study noted that Asia should continue to strengthen cooperation in the financial sector as a bulwark against the financial turmoil of the developed countries in the future.

This study revealed the ADB in its report entitled Policy Changes to Asia after global recession: Long Term Implications for Asian Economies, through a written statement to the Legal, in Jakarta, Friday (15/1/2010).

However, it also stressed that the integration efforts of cooperation must be modest in size to ensure there is a real benefit.

“Policymakers should avoid the use of bureaucratic resources scarce and limited political intentions and the major initiative that does not produce tangible benefits, but should focus on small-scale businesses,” the report stated.

In addition, a strengthened cooperation with bilateral agreement allows a large financial institution in one country to expand or acquire other banks, as well as privileges in the expansion of sectors subregions, such as the Greater Mekong Subregion.

On the other hand, the report also suggested to support future growth, the countries in the region to enhance intra trade.

And take steps to improve productivity and their capacity for innovation. In addition, to adopt economic policies which are smaller and more attractive low-cost producers, foreign direct investment, up to tourism.
